Harmony of the Seas Returns with Enhanced Dining, New Staterooms
Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class vessel, Harmony of the Seas, has officially completed its extensive dry dock period, returning to service with a host of exciting new features and expanded offerings for guests.
What Happened
The 226,963-gross ton ship spent six weeks undergoing a significant refit at the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, from early April to mid-May 2026. This comprehensive upgrade marked its first major dry dock since 2021, moving beyond routine maintenance to introduce substantial enhancements across the vessel.
Central to the revitalization are several brand-new dining and bar experiences. The ship’s pool deck has been re-themed to a vibrant Caribbean style, now featuring The Lime & Coconut pool bar. Guests can also enjoy new culinary options with the complimentary Mexican eatery, El Loco Fresh, and the specialty Samba Grill Brazilian Steakhouse, offering an authentic churrascaria experience.
Entertainment and casual dining have also seen upgrades. The popular Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade has been installed in the Boardwalk neighborhood, replacing the former Sabor Mexican restaurant. Additionally, the Bionic Bar on Deck 5 has been transformed into The Pesky Parrot, a lively tropical-themed tiki bar, mirroring popular venues on other Royal Caribbean ships.
Beyond dining, Harmony of the Seas has also expanded its capacity with the addition of nearly 100 new staterooms. These include highly sought-after panoramic suites located above the bridge, offering breathtaking floor-to-ceiling views, as well as new interior cabins across various decks, converting former conference spaces and even the Wonderland restaurant area into comfortable guest accommodations.
Why It Matters for Travelers
These significant enhancements provide travelers with even more variety and upgraded choices for their cruise vacations. The new dining venues cater to diverse palates, from casual Mexican fare to a premium steakhouse experience, ensuring there’s something for every taste and mood.
The addition of new staterooms, particularly the panoramic suites, offers unique accommodation options for those seeking expansive ocean views, while the new interior cabins provide more budget-friendly choices. This increased capacity could also lead to greater availability for popular itineraries, making it easier for travelers to book their preferred sailings.
For guests who enjoy an active social atmosphere, the new bars and the Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade create vibrant hubs for relaxation, entertainment, and enjoying sporting events. The comprehensive refresh ensures that Harmony of the Seas continues to deliver a modern, high-quality cruise experience, aligning with Royal Caribbean’s commitment to evolving its fleet.
What to Expect Next
Following its departure from Barcelona on May 21, 2026, Harmony of the Seas will continue its Mediterranean season through July. Travelers can then anticipate its transatlantic crossing to Port Canaveral, Florida, where it will embark on a series of cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. The ship’s enhanced features are now fully integrated, promising an elevated experience on all upcoming itineraries.
